CAPE TOWN SUNSET HALF DAY PHOTO TOUR

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO PHOTOGRAPH ON THIS 4/5 HOUR PHOTO TOUR

Cape Town sunsets are sensational as the sun dips down over the ocean. Times vary, in summer (Dec) sunset is around 8pm, and in winter (July) 5:45pm.  Before the sun sets we have a number of wonderful photo choices for you.

CITY & CAMPS BAY SUNSET PHOTO TOUR
You will photograph the colourful Cape Malay Quarter and bustling Company Gardens followed by panoramic vistas over the city from Signal Hill, and finishing with a splendid seascape on the rocks overlooking Camps Bay and The Twelve Apostles.

KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDEN & SEASCAPE SUNSET PHOTO TOUR
Known as one of the world’s most beautiful botanical gardens, there is so much to photograph here, from flowers to birds to macro to landscapes. Following this you will drive to the south western mountain corner around Hout Bay where there are many amazing seascape sunset options. This could be along Chapmans Peak Drive, Hout Bay itself or from the splendid boulders in and around Llandudno beach.

TOWNSHIP & CAMPS BAY SUNSET PHOTO TOUR
Outside the city are high-density, low-income suburbs known locally as ‘the townships’. Here you will join a local guide who walks you through a township and introduces you to its people. This tour is not just a photo walk, but also an interactive cultural experience which greatly benefits the impoverished community, as tourism is an integral part of their local economy. Please read our Trip Advisor reviews to see what others felt of this tour as initially we were reluctant to run it, but client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The tour finishes with a spectacular sunset on the rocks overlooking Camps Bay and The Twelve Apostles.

TABLE MOUNTAIN POSTCARD SUNSET + CITY & INTAKA BIRD ISLAND
The quintessential postcard photo of Table Mountain over the ocean and we know some many options and foregrounds to use ! This location is roughly 20/30mins drive north from the city and during the week traffic between 4:30-6:30pm can be very heavy. So depending on time of year we combine this tour with the colourful Bokaap city tour and/or Intaka Bird Island and work our times around avoiding the heavy traffic congestion.

Intaka means bird in Xhosa. This sanctuary is an award winning example of nature conservation and property development co-existing in harmony. There is great opportunity to photograph birds from the hides scattered along the water’s edge with over 120 species ranging from popular birds like cormorants, moorhens and geese and colourful jewels like the malachite kingfisher.

SEASCAPES & SUNSET PHOTO TOUR
There are numerous beautiful beaches from Camps Bay to Muizenberg and much in-between, each with their own character and shoreline. This half day tour is dedicated to exploring them.

LIONS HEAD HIKE & SUNSET PHOTO TOUR
This tour is only for the fit and agile. We hike up Lions Head, not the usual way but along a less used route to a spectacular cave with unique angles to photograph Table Mountain. From here there are amazing views over the ocean for sunset. A flashlight/torch, hiking shoes and warm clothing are required for this tour and snacks are highly recommended.

PRIVATE PHOTO TOUR
There is such photographic diversity in and around Cape Town. If there is anything in particular you would like to photograph let us know and we can tailor this tour to suit your interests.
