The Art of Landscape, Panoramic & Nature Photography

WHAT YOU WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHING

There are few cities in the world where you can be in nature and do landscape photography just minutes from the city centre so we are really fortunate to be able to do this workshop after work as we learn the techniques to landscape photography in the golden hours up to and after sunset.

Date: March 16,30 Time: 17:30pm
Meeting Place: Lions Head Carpark @ wooden hut Group Size: Max 5 - Min 2
Fitness Level: Moderate to steep walk Duration: ±3hrs
Fee: R400 p/p

HIGHLIGHTS: The techniques of landscape photography from composition to panoramics and HDRS. We also learn ‘tricks’ like silhouette shots & sun 'starbursts'. We look at everything from the miniature to the massive (macro to landscape).

Recommended Camera Equipment:

As we will be walking up a relatively steep hill it is recommended to travel light with one body and a zoom lens an 18-200m is perfect.

Point & Shoot: To make the most of the above techniques your camera needs to be capable of changing aperture, exposure compensation, white balance and flash settings (many of the new cameras have these features just look in your manual).

Enthusiast: Single DLSR body. All in one zoom lens such as 18-200mm or a 18-70mm or 24-120mm (anything in these approx focal lengths) A wide angel lens will be very useful anything less than 20mm. A support system either a light weight tripod or bean bag is highly recommended

Serious enthusiast: Similar set up to 'enthusiast' but a full frame DSLR will be a bonus as will super wide angles lenses such as 10-20mm or 14mm on full frame. A tripod or bean bag is essential. To maximize your opportunity bring along the recommended optional extras such as tripod or bean bag, N-grad filters & a cable release

Optional accessories: Tripod, External Flash, Camera bag, Polarizing Filter, N-grad filters, Cable Release, Camera Cleaning Equipment, Spare Batteries & Memory Cards

We Don’t Recommend: Large telephoto lenses or heavy tripods as we’ll be walking up a steep hill.

If you don’t have a tripod is very easy to make a ‘bean bag’, just buy a ziplock plastic bag and fill it with a 2kg sealed bag of rice. You can tape up the zip seal to ensure it stays airtight.

PLEASE BRING YOUR CAMERA MANUALS
DON’T FORGET TO BRING WATER, HAT & WALKING SHOES & TORCH.
