WHAT YOU WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHING

A half day tour to the Cape Point is only recommended for those who have limited time, have been to the False Bay area before or who want specifically to photograph the Cape Point early morning or late afternoon.

The drive from the City to the Cape of Good Hope Reserve is approximately 60km which means our time there is limited, to maximize our opportunities our route to and from is direct. For a fuller experience we recommend this as a full day trip.

The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve encompasses the entire southern tip of the peninsula with 40km of reserve coastline. It is approx 8000hectares (19700acres) in size and is home to over a thousand different floral species. The baboon is the only large mammal you are likely to encounter but occasionally antelope and mountain zebra are also seen. Ostriches are fairly common and there is the unique chance of photographing them next to the ocean.

The Cape Point despite popular belief is not the southernmost tip of Africa that is reserved for Cape Agulhas but if ever there was a place to be forgiven for perpetuating the myth it is here, with its natural beauty, superlative views and meeting place of two ocean currents it certainly feels and photographs like the tip of Africa!
