The Hex Valley is roughly 150kms from Cape Town and is its vineyards are almost as well known for their rich autumn colours as they are for their award winning wines.
Surrounded by rugged mountains these vineyards lay in a picturesque valley with a haunted history. The hex (ghost) of the valley is said to be a beautiful girl, Eliza Meiring whose spirit wanders the peaks, lamenting the death of her beloved killed while trying to get her a disa flower from the highest peaks in the range, the 2249m Matroosberg.
You will be taken on leisurely drive that passes through spectacular scenery of mountains, valleys, gorges and passes into this picturesque valley that bursts aflame in red, yellows and browns in the late autumn and early winter months for roughly six weeks starting end of May.
