I had to organise a learning event for EO (The Entrepreneurs' Organisation), and I came across Greg and James from Photography Tours. As our prospective attendees were all Capetonians, we were a bit sceptical about doing a tour of our own city. We needn't have worried! Our group of 11 people had a wonderful time in their expert hands. We were well looked after. People really enjoyed how Greg and James answered all our questions and shared their expansive knowledge of the history of Cape Town. The city's history came to life through the lenses of our cameras. Our tour encompassed the Bo-Kaap, Heritage Square and the Company's Garden. Everyone was equipped with a smartphone loaded with the Snapseed app. We were taught how to capture light and colour in our photos and how to improve the pictures in the app. James taught us how to take close-ups of the squirrel models in the Gardens. We had a scrumptious Cape Malay lunch and got to discuss and compare our pics. A wonderful time was had by all. I can highly recommend them.

Photowalk at V&A Waterfront
I had a fantastic evening exploring and photographing the V&A Waterfront with Greg. I initially contacted him through WhatsApp, and he was incredibly responsive, answering my questions quickly and making everything easy to arrange. Communication was just as good on the day of the photowalk. Greg is very laid back and personable, which made the whole experience feel more like walking around with a fellow photographer than being on a formal tour. He had lots of great ideas for unique compositions and knew where to look for interesting perspectives and photo opportunities that I probably would have walked right past on my own. We spent the evening walking, talking photography, experimenting with different compositions, and capturing some great images as the light changed around the waterfront. It was a fun, relaxed, and creative way to experience the V&A. I’d definitely recommend Greg to anyone visiting Cape Town who wants to spend an evening exploring the waterfront with a knowledgeable photographer and come away with some images that are a little different from the usual tourist shots.

A personal and well-paced photography walk
I did both a morning and evening photography walk with Greg around Cape Town, and it ended up being just the two of us, which made the experience feel very personal. We walked through different parts of the city, and Greg shared bits of history along the way, which added another layer to the experience. The pace was relaxed, and he gave helpful tips without making it feel too technical. He also followed up with photos from the walk, which was a nice touch. Amazing!
An amazing day spent with Greg, taking excellent photos and seeing new views of Cape Town and the surrounding area. We started early for sunrise from Signal Hill and ended the day in the late afternoon on the beach at Camps Bay. Greg was a terrific host, guide, driver and photographer who shared his passion for Cape Town with us. Photography while exploring and learning about the city
I spend 8 amazing day’s in Cape Town. A big part of my enthusiasm for the city has to do with the great experience I had being guided by Greg on 3 different occasions in different parts of the city. He is a very knowledgeable photographer and socially engaged and he explains with passion about the history of the city and the country in general but most importantly about his passion for photography. You can learn a lot from him about photography.He is a great person to hang out with. Beautiful Cape Town
Greg took me around Cape Town for a whole day trip from Signal Hill, colourful Bo-Kaap to Boulders Beach with cute penguins... It was a very enjoyable day with chances to take beautiful photographs from the places he had shown me, at the same time getting to know Cape Town. Greg is friendly, pleasant, knowledgable and very accommodating. It is a excellent combination of able to see Cape Town with photography opportunities. Outstanding photo tour in and around Cape Town
I was in Cape Town on a solo trip, and Greg helped make my time there extra special. He is a very professional and knowledgeable photo guide and took me to a lot of cool places in the area. You can see he is truly passionate about what he does and likes to see things differently. I had a few location wishes, and Greg was so flexible and attentive, always adapting the plan to my requests and to the weather so we could make the most of every photography opportunity. I had always been a bit apprehensive of shooting full manual, and, following his teaching and encouragements, I finally made the jump and never looked back. I learned a lot, so thank you Greg! We had a wonderful time travelling along the Garden Route in South Africa followed by a 2800 km journey through Namibia.
